Moderate walking holiday in the Spanish Pyrenees

Day 1: Arrive in Zaragoza. where you will be met by your guide Private transfer in a 9 seater people carrier to your hotel in Panticosa. 2 hour journey. Trip briefing and Q&A with your guide before dinner

Day 2: Ibon de Pedrafita

A gentle walk starting at Piedrafita de Jaca 1300m takes you through woodland to Ibon de Piedrafta 1600m which is a wonderful spot to take a picnic and relax. En route there is evidence of fossils in the sedimentary rocks beside the river. Then head back down to the village. 4-5 hours of walking

Day 3: Faja Racon - Ordesa Valley

The day starts with a beautiful drive to Pradere de Ordesa where we take a moderate ascent of the northern slopes above the valley and follow a balcony route with beautiful views of the waterfalls below. The path will take us down to the upper valley where we can explore more of the water features at this UNESCO site 5 hours of walking

Day 4: Punta del Pacino - butterflies

A circular route starting nearby Sallent de Gallego 1300m, going clockwise to the peak of Punta del Pacino 1965m where you will see lots of swallowtail butterflies 5-6 hours of walking

Day 5: Rest day Day trip to Jaca known as the "pearl of the Pyrenees"

40 minute private transfer to Jaca, visit at your own leisure the citadel and cathedral, after which you will have a group dinner with featuring of a tasting menu of traditional cuisine

Day 6: Circular walk from Panticosa Sabacos

This walk starts from our hotel whereby we take the gondola up to Puntal de los Petros 1865 and make our walk to Ibon de Sabocos and Cuello Sabocas 2090m where you will see many horses grazing. We continue along the Ricon del Verde where we can see the impressive rock formations of the surrounding mountain range. We will return following the river route back to Panticos 1200m 6 hours walking

Day 7: Walk on the border of France with griffon vultures

Starting at Cabane de l'Araille 1700m, circular walk, col de l'lou 2194m, Pic de Peyreget 2487m, Refuge de pombie 2032m, return to start point. 6 hours walking

Day 8: Depart for UK 2 hour private transfer to the airport.
